I had the most frustrating and unprofessional experience at this hotel, mainly because of the manager’s dishonesty and constant harassment. Before booking, I checked the hotel on Agoda where the room was listed at a cheaper price. I called the hotel directly, and the manager told me to book “offline” with him and promised he would match the same deal. He quoted me ₹1800 for one night, which I agreed to. However, he then charged ₹500 for an extra bed, even though the same property charges ₹300 on Agoda. Already misleading. Next day, I found a cheaper deal on Agoda for the same room and booked it (including an extra bed). Before leaving the hotel in the morning, I called the manager, informed him of the new booking, and politely asked if we could keep the same room. He agreed without any issue. But things went downhill from there. While we were out sightseeing in Varanasi, the manager kept calling repeatedly, harassing us and saying that the room we booked on Agoda “didn’t have an attached washroom.” This was absolutely FALSE — Agoda clearly mentioned that the room comes with a private bathroom. Then he said they needed the room for someone else and even asked if he could open our locked room with another key while we were away. Extremely unprofessional and borderline unsafe. When I refused, the hotel told Agoda they could cancel the booking for free, but that left us stranded in the middle of the city with nowhere to go. Later the hotel owner called me and changed the story again, saying Agoda “made a mistake” and that the room I booked didn't have an attached washroom. And then he said if I wanted to keep the same room, I had to pay the difference between my Agoda price and their ₹1800 rate. So I ended up paying an extra ₹450 because of their mistake, not mine. Totally unprofessional. Would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid this place if you don’t want your trip ruined.

During my recent stay at the hotel , I was truly impressed by the great service and the staff was very welcoming Outstanding service and comfort made it a stay I would highly recommend it this hotel as Sushil Singh is a really a helpful person

The Manager SUSHIL SINGH sir, there, we very prompt and active, given complete guidance of stay and very smoothly given all services in immediate time, whenever required. He provided resolution of all sorts. The stay was really good at the HOTEL THE SHIVAAY, rooms very serene and clean.

It was really good. The manager Sushil shingh ji provided great hospitality and made sure there is no issue I face being a solo traveller.
