Worst experience yesterday at Tantuj State handloom shop. The sales person was very unprofessional and rude. He was getting irritated if asked to show some other colour or design. The shop is empty and no people pay a visit here only because of the bad behaviour of the staffs. They don't want to show you designs and colours only because they have to work more packing those. Never visit this place. Moreover the prices of clothes here in most of the shops are exorbitant. I had visited this shop only after seeing a review from a YouTube channel. But I was very much disappointed with the staffs behaviour. They won't be able to do business untill and unless they find some decent staffs for their business. Don't visit here.

I visited Puri after 12 years, and I had a checklist to shop from Tantuja as I believed it's a trustworthy shop and also I have childhood memories of wearing clothes from this shop which made it more special. There were many shops near the Swargadar beach, but I looked for Tantuja on Google map and reached there with excitement. It was around 6 pm and the shop was empty. I asked the staff to show some Ikkat Katki saree. I didn't like the first two sarees, so I asked him to show some other designs. The man sitting at the cashier desk shouted at the staff to not show anymore and asked me and my dad to come at a different time as it's their "bouni time"(shop opening time). He assumed we won't buy anything and according to him it's inauspicious if customers like us come at bouni time. This behaviour from this reputed shop was beyond my imagination. The cashier was so rude and utterly unprofessional. We felt insulted and left the shop at once, I am never ever going to visit this shop again. We bought from other shops in the Swargadar market and all were professional and well mannered. If Tantuja keeps this same cashier it will surely destroy Tantuja's reputation and profit as well.

Extremely unprofessional and rude salesperson. Totally empty shop, no customer, which is appropriate for the quality of people selling it. If this shop needs to do business, it better find better staff.

I am old customer of this shop. I visit Puri almost every year with my family and all the time I purchase some articles from this shop. This time also I purchased some articles on 01/12/19. As there was some problem with the size of one Punjabi,I,along with my family & friends went to exchange the same with the plan to purchase some more articles in 03/12/19. Surprisingly, we were kept waiting for a long time & nobody was even interested in attending us. Being frustrated,when we approached the man in the counter ,we met with serious kind of misbehaviour . We protested vehemently and walked out of the shop without any further deal there. I have decided not to visit this shop in future and my request to all visitor not to go to this shop ever.

Only the word "Tantuja" in a shop's name plate does not mean it is a real Govt. Shop. See the cash memo carefully to find out the truth. See the photo and be sure that you are at the right place. One thing keep in mind that if you are from West Bengal, Tanjuj have many shops throughout your state. Now, if you like to purchase from here, keep your eyes wide open. 😊
