I came across this place through an online recommendation and decided to visit even though it was quite far from my hotel. This is easily the best shop I found in Varanasi. The owner is kind, honest, and genuinely helpful—no pressure, just good advice and beautiful, high-quality silk. I felt totally comfortable here, which is rare when shopping in touristy areas. Most taxi drivers won’t take you to this specific shop (be careful), so I recommend walking. It’s a lovely walk along the Ghats and makes the visit even better. Best shopping experience I’ve had in India so far. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in town. Thank you for this wonderful experience 🙏🏻

I had recently visited Varanasi and after researching diligently, I came across Mehrotra silk factory with wonderful reviews. I must say that the store lives up to the expectations. The store owners are very courteous, polite and honest in their sales. You can be sure that you are buying genuine products. I wholeheartedly recommend this store and it cent percent worth checking out.

This place deserves 5 stars because of the integrity of the owner. His honesty is something that made me buy a few genuine silk fabrics as souvenirs from Benaras. They have excellent varieties of fabrics which are hand woven in their handlooms located nearby. You can also visit their handloom factory to see the process of how silk sarees are made. The owner Mr. Mehrotra was very honest with me from the beginning & clearly mentioned & showed me the difference between genuine silk and artificial silk by a tiny live experiment. And they don't sell artificial silk under the disguise of real silk. It's a family run business. I highly recommend this place if you wish to buy some genuine silks fabrics or sarees.
