I recently visited Wildgrass Restaurant in Puri, and the overall experience was pleasant. We tried chicken biryani, plain rice, dal, masala papad, paneer, and mutton curry. The taste of all the dishes was really good, especially the biryani and mutton curry, which were flavorful and well-cooked. However, the quantity was quite less compared to the price, which was a bit disappointing. With a little more portion size, the dining experience would have been truly satisfying. Ambience and service were decent, and the food quality is definitely commendable. If you don’t mind slightly smaller portions, it’s a nice place to try in Puri .
Wildgrass honestly surprised me in the best way. The moment I walked in, it felt like entering a little forest — so many trees and such a peaceful vibe. Really sets the mood before the food even arrives. I ordered the Odia thala and wow… I genuinely loved it. Everything tasted so fresh, especially the veggies. The sang bhaja and dahi baingan were my absolute favorites — the kind of dishes that make you pause and go, “Okay, this is GOOD.” But the funniest part? The portion size. The thala could easily feed two people, especially if you’re not local or Bengali. The amount of rice they served honestly shocked me — in a good, “how am I going to finish this?” kind of way. Prices were totally reasonable too, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, Wildgrass gave me great food, a great vibe, and an unexpectedly huge meal — definitely worth a visit!
This spot's pretty good, even though I didn't have any seafood myself. My mom and sister did, and they said the fish and prawns were Good. We also got a Veg thali and Chicken Chowmin, and those were good too. The vibe was cool, with different seating options so people could enjoy the greenery while they ate. You should totally go for their Biryani too. It's super popular with the locals, and a bunch of people were ordering it, so you might wanna give it a shot.
The veg soups were okayish. The tandoori pomfret fish that I ordered was not properly cleaned from inside. The size of tandoori roti was okay. The kadhai paneer was good. The taste of fish was good. Service and preparation of food can be improved. The veg fried rice was also good.
I’d rate Wildgrass Restaurant, Puri around 3.5 out of 5. The place has a really nice and peaceful ambience, an open garden-style setup surrounded by greenery that feels refreshing, especially in the evenings. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a meal away from the beach rush. The food was decent overall, though not everything stood out. Some dishes were flavorful, while others felt a bit average. I tried a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, the fish curry was quite good, and the naan and paneer dishes were satisfying, but a few items could use a little more seasoning or freshness. The service was polite but slightly slow, which might test your patience if you’re really hungry. Prices are fair for the portion size and the overall setup, so it’s not too heavy on the pocket. The place is clean and well-maintained, and the staff do their best to make you comfortable. Overall, Wildgrass is a good restaurant for a calm dining experience with decent food and nice ambience. Not exceptional, but definitely a reliable spot to try when you’re in Puri.
Excellent natural set up of a cosy and easy restaurant. We tried Ghee Anna Mutton, Crab Masala, Tandoor Prawn, home style Chicken curry, Veg Thali, garlic prawn, all came out perfect, except veg soup. Fast and good service, they broke the crabs to make our lives easy. Foods were served on melamine dishes, which I did not like. Other wise, all good, rather excellent 👍👍👍 would like to come again.
I recently visited Wildgrass Restaurant near Subhash Chowk in Puri, and I must say it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. The first thing that catches your attention is the beautiful and soothing ambiance. Surrounded by greenery, with plenty of plants and trees all around, the restaurant has a very natural and refreshing vibe. There’s even a charming tree house setup that makes the place stand out compared to regular restaurants. It feels less like dining at a commercial outlet and more like enjoying a meal amidst nature. Coming to the food, the quality and taste were impressive. Although I was a little disappointed that the mackerel tandoor was not available during my visit, I went ahead and tried the pomfret tandoor and prawn tandoor instead. Both dishes were cooked perfectly, well-marinated, and served fresh. Considering the portion size and the quality of seafood, I found the pricing absolutely fair and justified. The flavors really reflected the freshness of coastal cuisine, something Puri is known for. The staff was polite, and the service was smooth, which made the overall experience even better. If you are someone visiting Puri or staying nearby, I would highly recommend adding Wildgrass to your food list. It’s a perfect blend of great ambiance, fresh seafood, and value for money. Definitely a must-visit for food lovers!
Today I was going to this fabulous restaurant. I ordered one tandoori Mackerel fish, Masada Crab with steam rice and Ghee Arna Mutton and Lime soda. Best thing is all the foods are good taste and price is 100% justified. Specially i mention Masala Crab because Crab portion is huge and it is this restaurant staple food. You should try it. Love the place and ambience. Recommended place.
