World's smallest river island. It is famous for siva temple.
Umananda Island is the smallest inhabited river islet in the middle of river Brahmaputra, flowing through the city of Guwahati in Assam, a state in northeast India.
also called umananda island…. smallest inhabited island in the world… can be reached from guwahati city through boats from jaipore near shukreswar temple …
Smallest inhabited River Island in the world. Boat ride here, over river Brahmaputra, is a good experience. Govt Ferry available at 20rs ticket, from Ghat near NorthBrook Gate. Beware of private boats in this area who try to scam newcomers offering 400rs+ tickets saying that is the only option available. Govt ferrys available at different times. Ask for return ferry times and plan accordingly (last ferry might be at 4.30pm if I remember right)
Beautiful, have Umananda temple. Faced issue of lack of water and clean toilet.
Umananda island is located in the Brahmaputra river. It is a nearby place from guwahati. I visited there after visiting kamakhya temple. It is a nice island. There is a shiva temple called umananda temple. The ferry will be available from the river bank to go to this island. I recommend everyone to visit the island with your family and family members whenever you visit guwahati.
