I tried this place on recommendation from a friend. This is less touristy and have a limited seating. It’s more budget friendly and the portion sizes are huge. I tried their special thali and it was like a food coma after having it. The special baati chokha thali had paneer & litti baati along with daal, chawal, kheer, ghee and chutneys. If you are looking for a more raw experience, you can try this one.
Visiting Ayodhya from USA. Small shop, not great bathroom but service is amazing!!!. The staff were great and very helpful and earthen pots give a very authentic feeling . Fra and paneer papad wala was great. Thanks to our guide who brought us here Deepankar Shukla. Spl. Pallavi thali and their kheer is great.

Pallavi Baati Chokha restaurant is situated near Sigra which is the heart of the city. It is very accessible from all the corners of the city. This restaurant maintains authentic taste of east UP by serving local delicacies. The restaurant has modern seating arrangements along with traditional rural seating options. The restaurant is completely vegetarian. It offers standard snacks like paneer pakoda, papad, veg pakoda and fara. Fara is a local dumpling like lentil preparation which can be either steamed or fried. I personally preferred it to be fried. There are some local drinks like lassi and Maththa available on the menu. One can enjoy local vegetables like nenua, nimona and kalaunji from the menu. However, these can be seasonal and not available throughout the year. The star items at this restaurant are the combos. I had the normal baati chokha combo. It had 2 pieces of sattu baati, chokha, arhar daal, rice and chatani. By restaurant rules, this combo cannot be shared. The quantity of the items was very good. It was more than enough for one person. The size of baati was huge and it had generous filling. The baati was authentically cooked in the charcoal which gave it the smoky flavour. I also had sattu paratha with chokha. The paratha was very well made and was decent for 1 person. For dessert, I had the traditional kheer which I found to be a good dessert and had balanced sweetness.
The food here is super super tasty. We ordered litti chokha, banarasi aloo dum, paneer kadhai, dal tadka with roti and rice. Everything was so delicious. Aloo dum had paneer stuffing which made it even more tasty. We were 5 people and we ate sufficiently for about 1200rs.
Delicious food, liked Sattu Bati more than Paneer Bari, amazing food, don't miss taste the kheer, it was really awesome... Finger licking food... People who don't like mustard oil, this place isn't a good try for them, but if you wanna try local UP cuisine, must visit this place. Ambience is good too...
