Its one of the holy trinity of Benaras chat. We reached 10 minutes before it opened at 2pm and got a table and enjoyed our chats peacefully. BUT the surprising Winners were the desserts; Kulfi falooda (amazing) and Malaiyu (very good) The Gol Gappa was pathetic, simply pathetic, they dont serve sonth. The Chaats were good but not great; Palak patta, Basket, Aloo Tikki, Khasta Kachori - Chole Tamatar ki chaat is just some kind of a soup, havent yet found a good version but neither was this good. But the pricing was amazing so much for Rs 650 And of course Huge crowds
Taste: 4.5/5, it was good, I tried their tikki chaat, palak patta chaat and it was good. Location: besides main road Seating arrangement: it's available but completely booked at all times, need to wait for 20-30 mins. Serve time: around 30 mins. Price: 50-60 rupees per item. I will not recommend takeaway as they give all the items separately and mixing right way is difficult for a common person. Enjoy the dine in if possible.
Deena Chat Bhandar was just a 3-minute walk from our hotel (Shree Ganesha Palace). It opens around 2 pm and gets quite crowded, but the good thing is they have a separate takeaway counter, which makes things smoother. We tried their Aloo Tikki Chaat, and it was the best, the stuffing was warm, soft, and literally melted in the mouth. Their kulfi also reminded me of my city, Kolkata, especially with the boiled semaiya very nostalgic. Chura Matar was something new and interesting for us, with fried poha, bhujia, and matar mixed together. And the gulab jamun was pretty good too. Overall, everything we had for around ₹200 was totally worth it. Would definitely recommend!
One of the best places to try famous chaats of benaras. We got to know about this place from vlogs and reels, and we are glad we went there to try their food. This place is open during the noon-afternoon. Which is good. You can easily go, sit and taste the famous chaats offered here. And the best is the "Tamatar chaat" which is so hyped over the internet and for good reasons. Tamatar chaat is the best thing I had here and in the entire city of Benaras. If you go to Benaras for the first time , this is the 1st thing you should try. And if someone is visiting Benaras for the 2nd time or more and had this before, he/she will definitely come back here to try the OG Tamatar chaat. Everything else was also good. Chaats here are excellent.
It was our first time in Banaras, and we decided to try the famous chaats at Deena Chat Bhandar — and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. We ordered Tamatar Chaat, Palak Patta Chaat, Khasta Kachori Chaat, Pani Puri, and Chura Matar. Among them, the Palak Patta Chaat was the absolute standout — crispy, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. The Tamatar Chaat was another highlight; it’s a unique Banarasi specialty that you don’t easily find in other cities, making it a must-try for anyone visiting. We tasted just one spoon of the Chura Matar and didn’t quite enjoy it, but the staff’s warm gesture of not charging us for it truly impressed us. Their hospitality added a special touch to the experience. Overall, we had an amazing time at Deena Chat Bhandar and would highly recommend it to anyone exploring Banaras and its iconic chaat culture! 🌟🍽️
If you're in Varanasi and craving street-food with a local reputation, Deena Chaat Bhandar is worth a stop. Tucked at, Luxa Road (near PDR Mall, Godaulia), this vegetarian-only spot focuses on chaat and street-style snacks. What stands out: Aloo Tikki Chaat get repeated praise for bold flavour and local character. Tamatar chaat is a bit hype, but can be tried once. Pani puri, palak patta chaat, and kulfi/falooda desserts also feature prominently. Prices are very reasonable—reviews list approx ₹200 for two. On the flipside: The place is often crowded, seating is basic, and you may end up eating at a bench or standing. Some hygiene and consistency issues are there. Verdict: For chaat lovers, Deena Chaat Bhandar delivers an authentic, flavour-packed experience in Varanasi. Go early or be ready for a wait.
📍 Location & Hours Address: D-47/184, Near PDR Mall, Luxa Road, Godaulia (Rama Pura) area, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh 221001 (or 221010) Opening time: from 2:00 pm onward in the afternoon. Closing time: around 10:00 pm (approx) according to some sources. 🍽 What to Try They are famous for their tamatar chaat, a speciality of Varanasi and this shop in particular. Other popular items: golgappe (puchka), palak-patta chaat, tikki-dahi, choora-matar. Example pricing: tamatar chaat around ₹60, golgappa pani (12 pieces) around ₹60, etc. ✅ Why It’s Good Long-standing establishment: started by Deena Nath Kesari selling chaat on a mobile stall decades ago. Highly recommended by locals and visitors. For example, users say: > “Love Deena, the tamatar chat is life” Vegetarian-friendly, with indoor seating and take-away options. ⚠️ Things to Note / Tips It can get very crowded, especially in the evening, being a popular spot. Arriving a bit early may help avoid waiting. Parking near Luxa Road / Godaulia may be tricky given narrow lanes and busy traffic. While the main attraction is the chaat, some reviewers feel other menu items (e.g., dahi samosa, tikki chole) may not always meet expectations. 👍 My Suggestion If you’re in Varanasi and want an authentic local chaat experience, Deena Chat Bhandar is a strong choice. Best time to go: After 4 pm when they open; try going early evening to beat the worst of the queue. Must-order: Tamatar chaat + Palakpatta to get a nice mix of unique local flavour and classic street food.
I recently ordered a few items from Zomato, which claimed to be prepared using desi ghee. While it’s possible that desi ghee was used, the quality of the ghee was not up to the mark. I can say this with confidence because the difference in ghee quality becomes very noticeable once the food cools down. The overall taste of the dishes was quite basic and lacked any distinct flavor or richness; honestly, you can find a similar taste at many local eateries and even street vendors in Varanasi. Another point I noticed was the excessive use of sweet chutney in every dish. While the chutney itself was fine, its generous application tended to overpower the main flavors of the food. It would be better if the chutney was provided in separate small packets, allowing customers to use it according to their personal taste. In terms of presentation, the food was delivered properly, and the packaging was acceptable, but the culinary experience didn’t meet expectations. Overall, considering taste, quality, and presentation, I would give the food an average rating of 5 out of 10. I hope the restaurant can improve the ghee quality and adjust the seasoning to make the dishes more balanced and flavorful.
All the types of chaat and golgappa os awesome. The great time is before starting of Aarti. But if you go there afyer be ready to face alot of crowd. But taste is worth it
We have been in Banaras for first time, so wanted to try all the famous chat places. First we have tried Kashi Chat Bhandar. It's nearby to that place. Little disappointed than the reviews about chat and taste than Kashi chat bhandar. Also Little Unhygenic in terms of insects flying in humid season. Tried below items : 1. Kulfi Falooda : Best item in taste and freshness. Very nice kulfi Falooda to eat. 5/5 2. Palak Patta Chat : It was good but the one in Kashi chat bhandar was better. May be because of making in bulk is the reason. 3. Bhalla papdi : Disappointed. It was ok. Have tried way better Dahi bhalla papadi chat at many places ( Pune, Delhi and Other places in UP). Price : 4/5 Taste : 3/5 Recommended to try different items. Thanks.

Good vibes, fun times to enjoy some good chat here. Tried Palak patta chat, Tamatar chaat, Tikki Chole, Kulfi Falooda, Gulab Jamun - everything was great ! Not as crowded when we went and found a seat quickly. Service is quick. Atmosphere is one that you should enjoy eating with the crowd and the honking of vehicles. Good spot for some family and friends time.
I liked the Tamatar ki chaat here better than the kashi chat bhandar. Paani puri is also nice especially the water of Panipuri. Quick service, seating area for 15-20 people, staff on their toes.
Super food, one of the best in town... The Aloo Tikki Chaat was simply amazing! The tikkis were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, not greasy at all. The chutneys were a delightful combination of sweet and tangy, and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. I especially loved the balance of flavors in each bite – a perfect mix of spicy, sweet, and savory. Definitely a must-try for any chaat lover!" Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food,"
